名詞子句的被動句

一、S + be + said to V/have + p.p. 據說～

例句︰
  • Yawns are said to be catching.
  • （據說打哈欠會傳染。）

關係詞與關係子句

一、what引導名詞子句

關係詞的種類 例子與說明
關係代名詞 who, whom, that, which, of which
關係副詞 where, when, why, how, that
關係形容詞 what, whatever, which, whichever, whose, whosever
準關係代名詞 as, but, than
關係子句 由關係詞引導的子句，可當形容詞、副詞或名詞

二、S + V ~, what + V + ~

例句︰
  • I’ll give you what money I have with me.
  • （我會把身上的錢都給你。）

三、N + prep. + 關代 + S + V

例句︰
  • The lady to whom John was talking was his secretary.
  • （和約翰說話那位女士是他的秘書。）

副詞子句

一、so ~ that + S + V = so ~ as to + Vr

此為表結果的副詞子句用法。
例句︰
  • He drove so fast that he had an accident.
  • （他開車太快，結果發生了意外。）
  • = He drove so fast as to have an accident.

    • 分詞構句

    一、S + V1 ~, V2-ing ~

    平行動作轉分詞構句。表示兩個動作先後做或同時做。
    例句︰
    • Wendy was standing by the gate, looking at me.
    • （溫蒂站在門邊注視著我。）

    二、adv./adv. phrase, S + V ~

    無人稱的獨立分詞片語：此類句型主詞無特定範圍，多是一般人，所以可省略。
    例句︰
    • Generally speaking, women live longer than men.
    • （一般來說，女人比男人長壽。）
    例句︰
    • Considering his age, he did it well.
    • （就他的年齡而言，他做得不錯。）

    假設語氣

    一、If+S+had+p.p., S +would/should/could/might+have+p.p.

    例句︰
    • If I had gone there yesterday, I could have met him.
    • （如果我昨天有去那裡，我就會遇見他。）
    • →事實：I didn’t go there yesterday, and I didn’t meet him.
